Abstract
Many GIS applications struggle to gain traction because they are difficult to use or don’t clearly support decision-making. This session focuses on how to design and build applications that are simple, effective, and aligned with user needs.
Using examples built with tools like ArcGIS Experience Builder and Dashboards, we will explore how to structure data, design intuitive interfaces, and present information in a way that is easy to understand. The session will also cover common mistakes, such as overloading users with too much information or building for functionality instead of usability.
The goal is to provide a practical framework for creating applications that people will actually use. Attendees will leave with clear guidance on how to design GIS apps that deliver real value.
