Abstract

This two-hour workshop will introduce participants to ArcGIS Experience Builder and provide practical guidance for creating web applications that are both effective and accessible.

During the first hour, attendees will learn the basics of Experience Builder, including its interface, core widgets, layout options, data connections, and general app design principles. The second hour will focus on ADA compliance and accessibility considerations, with an emphasis on building experiences that are more usable for all audiences.

Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how to design, configure, and evaluate Experience Builder applications that meet both functional needs and accessibility expectations.


Speaker Bios

Brian Clarkson
Brian Clarkson is Geospatial Services Manager at Ardurra, where he leads GIS services and application development across a variety of projects and markets. He specializes in turning spatial data into practical tools that support planning, decision-making, and daily operations. Brian has experience developing web mapping applications, managing geospatial workflows, and helping clients use GIS in clear and effective ways.

Brett Governanti
Brett Governanti serves as a GIS Analyst for the City of Casper, managing enterprise GIS systems and public-facing mapping applications for nearly 20 years. As part of the City’s ongoing ADA compliance efforts, he is currently implementing accessibility improvements across municipal mapping applications including web services, web maps, and Experience Builder. His work focuses on the practical challenges of ensuring that system users can access critical geographic information and city services while maintaining technical GIS requirements.
